Position Overview:
The Director of Solutions Engineering is responsible for providing top-level leadership and strategic direction to the entire Solutions Engineering function at Aeropay. This role shapes and executes the overall design and implementation of enterprise-level technical solutions, ensuring that they are developed to meet client needs and drive business growth. The Director of Solutions Engineering will collaborate frequently with other members of the company’s leadership team, address complex client- and technical-related challenges and play a critical role in the overall success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Duties:
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the Solutions Engineering team and key stakeholders, intervening with direct action as required
  • Collaborate with functional leads in Product and Engineering to maximize customer satisfaction and drive Aeropay’s revenue growth strategy
  • Lead client onboarding calls, addressing complex challenges with creative solutions
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of solutions engineering programs
  • Collaborate heavily with external clients and critical stakeholders
  • Perform related leadership duties and projects as necessary
People Leadership:
  • Lead, motivate and manage the Solutions Engineering team to ensure consistent high performance and productivity
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations and updates
  • Plan and implement training programs to enhance team skills and performance
  • Set clear KPIs and regularly assess team and individual employee performance
  • Conduct consistent performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback to improve individual and team effectiveness
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in solutions engineering, technical sales or a related function, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud computing, SaaS and/or API-based technology platforms
  • Proven experience in driving customer engagement and building effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Exemplary communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving acumen, with a detail-oriented approach to solutions design
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and project management frameworks a plus
Working Location, Compensation & Benefits:
This role is expected to be in office at Aeropay’s downtown Chicago HQ Monday through Thursday
Salary Range: $140K - $160K base salary (DOE)
