About the Role
As the IT & Security Manager, you’ll be the one-person team responsible for all aspects of IT operations and information security across the company. From supporting employees and onboarding new hires to hardening cloud infrastructure and driving compliance, you’ll build and run it all.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who thrives on independence, takes pride in creating reliable systems, and wants to be the go-to person for everything IT and security.
What You’ll Do
IT Operations & Support
• Provide ongoing IT support to all employees (hardware, software, access issues, etc.)
• Manage day-to-day admin tasks — Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, password managers, etc.
• Set up and manage laptops, accounts, VPN, MDM, and endpoint protection
• Lead onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires
• Evaluate, deploy, and manage new internal tools and systems as we grow
• Ensure high availability of internal services and minimize downtime
Security & Compliance
• Define and implement security policies across the organization
• Secure our cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), endpoints, and internal tools
• Monitor for vulnerabilities, threats, and incidents; own incident response
• Prepare for and lead compliance efforts (SOC2, ISO27001, etc.)
• Educate employees on best practices in security and data handling
Infrastructure & Automation
• Work with engineering to ensure security best practices across the stack
• Manage IAM, SSO, secrets, and internal network access
• Automate common IT workflows and implement robust monitoring/logging
What We’re Looking For
• 3–6 years of experience in IT support, system administration, and/or security
• Experience managing corporate IT in a fast-paced environment (startups a plus)
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and SaaS management
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills — you’re the company’s IT point of contact
• Organized, reliable, and able to set up scalable processes
• Comfortable working independently and owning end-to-end responsibility
Bonus Points
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO27001)
• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Okta, Jamf, scripting in Python/Bash)
• Prior experience as the sole IT/security person at a startup
Why Join Bridgewise?
• High-impact role with full ownership over IT & security
• Work with smart, motivated teammates in a collaborative startup culture
• Help shape the company’s tech and security culture from the ground up
• Flexibility, autonomy, and a real opportunity to grow with the company
