Fund Accountant

Location: Palo Alto, CA (Hybrid in office 3 days/wk)

Hiring manager: Sr. Director of Operations

Salary: $80,000-$95,000 year

This role is part of Equitybee’s operations department, which is first and foremost a scale enabler that requires a service mentality and mindset. With the successful launch of 10+ funds and the upcoming launch of additional investment vehicles, Equitybee is seeking a full-time Fund Accountant to support the administration and accounting of its growing fund platform.

Strategic support and problems you will solve:

Manage capital calls and distributions across multiple investment vehicles/funds

Prepare and distribute investor communications, notices, and reporting deliverables

Maintain accurate books and records through daily journal entries and reconciliations

Maintain investor and partner capital account records and supporting schedules

Allocate income, expenses, gains, and losses to partner capital accounts

Deliver ad hoc reporting and analysis to provide visibility to internal and external stakeholders

Prepare annual and quarterly financial statements

Support regulatory and compliance processes, including SEC Form D and Blue Sky filings

Coordinate fund audits and audit deliverables with external auditors

Open and maintain custodial and brokerage accounts, with full exposure to KYC, AML, and beneficial ownership requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

2-4 years of accounting experience with exposure to private funds preferred

Familiarity with Fund Operating Agreements and their impact on fund accounting and investor reporting

Understanding of partnership accounting concepts, including partner allocations, capital account maintenance, and distribution waterfalls

Experience preparing or supporting the preparation of financial statements, investor statements, capital calls, and distribution notices

Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred

Experience supporting fund cash movements, wire processing, and treasury-related activities preferred

Knowledge of various fund legal structures is a plus

Strong Excel skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Ability to utilize AI-powered tools to automate routine tasks and optimize operational efficiency
