About the role

We’re looking for a Lead Instructor for a remote, freelance role within our academic team. Ideal candidates are experienced software engineers who excel at designing high-quality, project-based learning experiences and ensuring academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Refine course syllabi and project-based components
  • Create asynchronous materials that foster deep engagement
  • Review and provide feedback on student projects and discussion boards

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Software Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited U.S. institution (required)
  • 5+ years in software engineering, preferably at a leading tech or Fortune 500 company and/or proven lecturing experience at a top-tier US university
  • Experience teaching or mentoring (online experience preferred)
  • Skilled in remote, asynchronous collaboration
  • Strong self-management and clear written communication

Contract terms

  • Time commitment: Project-based (averaging 5-20 hours per month, flexible schedule)
