In Reinsurance Controlling (RIC), controlling and management reporting responsibilities are brought together to ensure a consistent and high-quality controlling process. RIC advises the Reinsurance Committee (RVA), the RI CEO and the RI CFO on the current economics of the Reinsurance Segment and on the appropriate allocation of resources. In addition, RIC enables the global provision of structured internal reinsurance data as the Global Process Owner for Reporting.

Within this environment, the Business Intelligence Competence Center (BICC) drives a global reporting process that supports top management and global process owners with insightful, reliable and value-adding reporting. Our mission is to enable quality-assured reporting from a single source of truth.
To strengthen our BICC team, we are looking for a Business Intelligence Requirements Engineer with a focus on Pricing & ESG. In this role, you will contribute to a modern, agile and forward-looking working environment and help shape the future use of structured global reinsurance data.

Your Job

  • Act as a key interface to stakeholders by gathering, understanding and prioritising requirements across the reinsurance data landscape, covering reporting notations, functionalities, processes and content
  • Review and validate new or updated reports to ensure compliance with reporting guidelines and notation standards, while coordinating closely with colleagues on the registration of report changes.
  • Translate business needs into clear and actionable business and functional design specifications, supported by a sound understanding of underlying business processes.
  • Design and develop queries in close collaboration with the requirements management team using tools such as Analysis for Office (AFO), Query Designer, Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Contribute to logical and physical data model enhancements as well as transformation logic within a modern hybrid landscape spanning SAP BW/4HANA, SAP BW and Databricks.
  • Plan and execute development tests and system integration tests to help ensure robust and reliable solutions.
  • Support the further development of technical development standards, or define such standards in close cooperation with the BI Governance Manager.
  • Carry out post-development testing and contribute to a well-structured, high-quality user acceptance testing (UAT) process.

Your Profile

  • Degree in business informatics, mathematics or a comparable qualification
  • 3–5 years of experience experience in modern data warehousing from both a functional and technical perspective, including data models, characteristics, dimensions, attributes, key figures and query design
  • Relevant experience with data visualisation tools and front-end capabilities, with the ability to translate reporting requirements into effective data models
  • Hands-on experience in developing or consulting on data warehousing technologies such as SAP BW (on HANA), SAP BO, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Databricks and Power BI
  • A good understanding of (re)insurance business processes and reporting requirements
  • Strong German and English communication and negotiation skills, combined with a collaborative and stakeholder-oriented mindset
  • The ability to align individual requirements with the overall warehouse data model as well as reporting standards and notations
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills and the confidence to move topics forward effectively
