The Position: Director, Content Marketing
We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and digital-savvy Director of Content Marketing to shape Tipalti’s voice across the buyer journey. You’ll lead content strategy and execution for thought leadership, demand generation programs, events, product and partner marketing, campaigns, tipalti.com, and beyond—creating thought leadership that provokes, web copy that converts, and content that turns prospects into loyal customers.

What You’ll Do as Director, Content Marketing
- Set and execute the vision. Define, drive, and lead the content marketing strategy that positions Tipalti as the go-to finance automation partner for mid-market companies. Align and influence teams across marketing to bring the vision to life.
- Build the plan. Develop and manage a global content calendar aligned with business priorities, regional needs, and all stages of the funnel.
- Create with purpose. Oversee the development of full-funnel, multi-format content—blogs, web pages, ebooks, social media, research, and more—ensuring headlines and messaging resonate and drive engagement.
- Lead the website narrative. Own the strategy, planning, and execution of content on tipalti.com to ensure a seamless, consistent, and engaging experience that converts.
- Drive demand. Identify and deliver content that fuels demand generation and pipeline growth – knowing what works, what doesn’t, and what’s next.
- Innovate with AI. Embrace emerging technologies and identify how AI can improve content creation, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Make it bite-sized. Drive the creation of short, easily digestible content formats (videos, clips, bite-sized insights) to engage busy decision-makers and refresh stale content approaches.
- Expand our bench. Build and manage a roster of authoritative global writers and subject matter experts to scale content production without sacrificing quality.
- Partner across teams. Work closely with SEO, digital marketing, product marketing, and regional stakeholders to ensure content aligns with strategy and drives results.
- Measure what matters. Define KPIs, analyze performance, and continuously optimize to maximize impact.
- Lead and inspire. Attract, hire, and develop top marketing talent while fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, accountability, and timely execution – not just within the content team, but across the broader marketing organization.
- Run a tight ship. Manage competing priorities, ensuring the team delivers high-quality work on time and on brief, even in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of B2B content marketing experience, with 5+ years of experience in SaaS technology companies selling to line of business persona (e.g., CFO, CRO, CMO, CHRO). Finance or fintech experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills, with 5+ years of experience managing teams and external writers or agencies, and influencing cross-functionally within the marketing organization. Comfortable presenting ideas and strategies at the highest levels.
- Deep understanding of mid-market buyer needs, challenges, and decision-making processes.
- Expertise in building full-funnel content strategies that tailor messaging to target personas and buying stages, with the ability to adapt formats to specific channels. Skilled in leveraging existing distribution channels effectively and identifying or building new ones to maximize reach and impact.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills – with a keen eye for what resonates and what converts.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles and how they integrate with website content strategy and performance.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to use data to inform strategy and optimize execution.
- Experience running an efficient team with multiple competing priorities, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Comfort with fast-paced environments and changing priorities – you thrive in the dynamic world of high-growth SaaS.
- Passion for innovation and emerging tools, including how AI can enhance content marketing effectiveness.
- Experience with project management tools like Asana

The estimated (Foster City) Base Salary Range is $166,000 - $198,500 USD + bonus + options
